The final contest was hosted by the 2015 Symposium on the Future of Cloud Computing, organized by EIT Digital in Rennes, France. The symposium examined how the latest advances in cloud technology and research could be turned into sustainable businesses. This second edition offered 200 entrepreneurs, industry representatives, decision makers, venture capitalists, academics and researchers the opportunity to network and learn more about cloud computing, big data and data analytics.

According to the leader of the Future Cloud Action Line, Janne Järvinen, the contest was tough with many great applications. “It is clear that interest for startups is rising in Europe and EIT Digital is happy to support this trend”.

“EIT Digital’s mission is to support the most innovative start-ups in digital technology from all across Europe. In the Idea Challenge 2015 we had 461 submissions from 26 countries, and the first winners are very impressive. We are looking forward to working with them and help them scale up”, says Dominik Krabbe, Project Manager of EIT Digital Idea Challenge.

Idea Challenge focuses on the eight trends in digital technology: Cyber-Physical Systems, Cyber Security & Privacy, Future Cloud, Health & Wellbeing, Internet of Things, Smart Energy Systems, Smart Spaces, and Urban Life and Mobility.
